BUIB Congratulates 23rd Batch of Graduates.

Some 694 graduates of Biaka University Institute of Buea (BUIB) have been challenged to live according to the standards and quality of education accorded to them by BUIB as they face the job market. This call was made by the Minister of State, Minister of Higher Education represented by the Vice Chancellor of the University of Buea Prof. Horace Ngomo Manga at the 2021 convocation ceremony which took place on November 12 at the University’s campus. The Minister’s Representative further congratulated the Institution for maintaining the standards of Higher Education and equally paid homage to the quality of academic and support staff as well as the growing nature of infrastructures in place to cater for the academic wellbeing of students at BUIB.

The Sales Director at SES Africa, SES Networks Africa, Middle East &Central Asia Dr. Emmanuel Tita Sama addressing graduates in the capacity of Guest Speaker during the event centered his message on accountability and ethos of the different professions as these graduates face the world of employment. “It is ok to be Vulnerable, don’t focus on finding the jobs you love and never stop learning” Dr. Emmanuel Tita added during his discourse. According to the key note speaker, vulnerability leads to the acquisition of more knowledge and focusing on finding a job rather than the ones they love will expose graduates better to gain employment in the nearest future for these he noted are realities of the job market.

Speaking at this ceremony, the Vice Chancellor of Biaka University Institute of Buea  Dr. Mrs. Francisca Hongla Biaka applauded graduates while enumerating the partnerships with different organizations and the availability of other resources  for the better training of students. She reassured stakeholders that the University will continue to be responsible and prudent in the utilization of the available resources in training students for quality.

The ceremony witnessed the presence of the Director of Nursing/Head, Education Department of the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria Mrs. Magarete C. Eze and the Assistant Director/ Special Assistant to the Registrar of the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria Mrs. Godswill Stella Ijeoma who congratulated graduates on their success and reaffirmed the recognition of their certificates in Nigeria.

 

These 694 graduates from both the School of Health Sciences and the School of Management Sciences, pledged to be ambassadors of BUIB and to continue living with the audacity to be different as this they noted is their identity.

It is worth mentioning that the School of Health Sciences at this event graduated its first batch of Masters students while the School of Management Sciences graduated her first batch of the One year Top-Up Msc. Students.

The ceremony also witnessed amongst other dignitaries, the presence of His Excellency Lewal Bappah; Consul General of the Nigerian Consulate to the North and South West Regions of Cameroon.

His Excellency Lawal Bappah, Consul General of the Nigerian Consolate for the Northwest and South West Regions of Cameroon, pens his signature in the visitor’s Diary of St Veronica Medical Center Buea, during an official visit to the complex aimed at strengthening the working relationship between the two bodies. This August visit it should be noted is His very first outing to a private institution since HE Lewal came to Buea Cameroon as the new Consul General of the Nigerian Consolate.

It was a significant event for both St Veronica Medical Center and the Nigerian Consolate as these two have been working closely for more than 15 years in the areas of providing health care services to staff of the Consolate as well as providing knowledge to the Nigerian student community who made Biaka University Institute of Buea, their institution for learning.
Receiving the diplomatic figure alongside his entorage, the Chair of St Veronica Medical Center Dr. Mrs Francisca Hongla Biaka expressed appreciation to the guest of honor HE Lewal Bappah for identifying and applauding the complex as that which provides commendable services to the Consulate. She further reiterated the social bond that exists between the two bodies including but not limited to friendly matches that puts the relationship in a family mood.


In response, the Consul general, HE Lewal Bappah saluted the chair and her henchmen for operating such a prestigious complex and promised to further strengthen the bond that exists between the Complex and the Nigerian Consolate.
The visit witnessed a campus tour during which the diplomatic team had an opportunity to see different sections of the hospital and the university and equally met with some of the students including the Nigerian students of BUIB.

This 26th day of October 2021 according to the management team of St Veronica Medical Center , goes down memory lane as one that promised better collaboration between the Nigerian Consolate ant St Veronica Medical Center.

BUIB to Maintain Standards throughout the Academic Year

Workers of Biaka University Institute of Buea  (BUIB) have been commended for keeping true to their responsibilities in providing Knowledge and service to humanity. This was during the 2021 BUIB Congregation which took place on October 21st at Class Room Block 3 bringing together full time and part time workers of the university. The aim of this gathering was to officially communicate with faculty and staff, the vision set for the academic year 2021/2022, which centers on “maintaining standards” in Biaka University Institute of Buea.

Addressing workers, the Vice Chancellor of BUIB Dr. Mrs. Francisca Hongla Biaka on behalf of the shareholders and the Board of Trustees, expressed great satisfaction with the services provided by employees while welcoming the newly employed to the BUIB family.

Drawing from an academic perspective, the Deputy Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs Professor Fonkeng George added his voice and called on workers to use quality and discipline as watch words as they carry out their responsibilities during the school year. Making reference to the rising number of the student population, Professor Fonkeng invited employees to match up with the growth and the expectations of higher education through the provision of quality services.

While thanking workers for their allegiance, the Deputy Vice Chancellor in charge of Administration and Finance Mr. Finjap John, noted that the management has put in place all that is required for the smooth running of the academic year. These include well-equipped offices, constant water and electricity supply, among others.

On their part, employees of Biaka University Institute of Buea salute the efforts of management and promised to live up to expectations.

Worthy of note is the fact that all workers were called upon to respect COVID -19 barrier measures so as to stay safe and equally keep BUIB a Covid-19 free environment.

Participants were informed of the University’s Matriculation ceremony scheduled for November 11th 2021 and the Graduation Ceremony scheduled for November 12th 2021.

BUIB Kick-Starts 2021/2022 Academic Year

This 12th day of October 2021 can be described as lively and busy at the Biaka University Institute of Buea (BUIB) as the 2021/2022 school year takes off effectively. All three Schools; the School of Management Sciences, the School of Education and the School of Health Sciences have opened their doors to both returning and new students who prioritized BUIB as their institution for gaining knowledge and impact society with a difference.

While returning students begin course registration and effective classes, the new students are being oriented on the various operations of the University, the rules and regulations and how they can conveniently sail through studies at BUIB .

At different levels, students have been reminded of the very core of why they are here at BUIB which is to gain knowledge and be exceptional in their community as a reflection of the Mission of Biaka University Institute of Buea   which includes “to Empower individuals to achieve maximum capacity through the provision of quality education at all levels”.

The attention of Students have also been called to the importance of respecting COVID-19 barrier measures put in place which includes the washing and sanitizing of hands regularly, the wearing of face mask among others, to ensure a COVID-19 free study environment.

On the part of management, all has been set to accommodate these students in the areas of qualified lecturers, comfortable structures among others for the smooth running of the school year.

It is worth noting that admissions for 2021/2022 academic year is ongoing at all levels: HND, BSc. Top-Up BSc. MSc. Top-Up MSc.  as well as MBA programs.
