The Biaka University Institute of Buea (BUIB) today November 9th, 2024 hosted a memorable convocation ceremony, celebrating the accomplishments of its graduating class in a grand event marked by dignity, inspiration, and a call to service. The event began with an academic procession, showcasing the graduating students and staff in their full academic regalia. Esembe Malomba who came alongside the winners of the just ended “NA WE WE” football tournament to show appreciation to Dr. Francisca Biaka for her unending support to community development, added further prestige to the occasion. All three speakers commended BUIB for its academic rigor and emphasized the importance of its graduates in advancing national and global development.

The maiden visit of the U.S. Embassy delegation to Biaka University Institute of Buea (BUIB) on October 31, 2024, marked a significant step in strengthening educational partnerships between Cameroon and the United States. The delegation, led by Deputy Public Affairs Officer, Amanda Cauldwell and other key Embassy officials, was warmly welcomed by the university’s leadership and staff. This visit aimed to foster collaboration, provide access to valuable educational resources, and discuss potential future initiatives to enrich learning opportunities at BUIB.

Upon arrival, the U.S. Embassy delegation received a warm reception from BUIB’s Vice Chancellor, Dr. Francisca Hongla Biaka, and other university dignitaries. After introductory greetings, the delegation was led on a comprehensive tour of the campus facilities, highlighting the university’s commitment to practical, high-quality education. The delegation visited key areas, including the BUIB Simulation center, science laboratories, IT lab, library, Biaka Hospital, and lecture halls. She walked the attendees through eLibraryUSA’s vast collection, which includes academic journals, multimedia resources, and e-books. Ms. Foncham-Chingang highlighted how these resources would benefit both students and faculty by providing access to scholarly material, enhancing research capabilities, and supporting various fields of study.

The Vice Chancellor and university representatives expressed deep appreciation for the Embassy’s outreach efforts and acknowledged the transformative potential of resources like eLibraryUSA for BUIB’s academic community. With its wealth of information, the platform aligns well with BUIB’s educational mission, offering new learning avenues and encouraging a culture of academic excellence.This maiden visit from the U.S. Embassy set a solid foundation for future collaborative efforts aimed at enhancing educational standards at BUIB. Employee of The Month; Celebrating Mr. Fotabe Elvis (May 2024)

In a ceremony held yesterday 30th of May 2024 at the Biaka University Institute of Buea (BUIB), Mr. Fotabe Elvis, a dedicated cashier, was honored with the Employee of the Month award for May. The award was presented by the Vice Chancellor in the presence of the entire BUIB staff, marking a significant moment of recognition for outstanding service and commitment within the institution.

The selection process for the Employee of the Month was both thorough and democratic, ensuring that the most deserving candidate was recognized. The nomination process spanned three days, allowing ample time for BUIB staff to put forward names of colleagues who exemplified dedication, professionalism, and a strong work ethic. Following the nominations, voting took place yesterday, culminating in a clear decision that saw Mr. Fotabe Elvis emerge as the winner, with Mr. Ngalle Thomas being the runner-up.
