1,205 Students Say Yes to BUIB’s Rules and Regulations

“The true bone of education is intelligence and character”.; Guest speaker prof. Margarat N. Endeley making reference to  Martin Luther Kings, challenged some 1,205 students to study for “now is the right time” she said.

This remark was made while delivering an academic discourse at the 2020 matriculation and induction ceremony of Biaka University Institute of Buea which took place at the university’s campus this 11th day of December 2020.

Speaking on the theme “Education within the COVID 19 Pandemic: Opportunities, Challenges and Redolence” Professor Margaret N. Endeley- Vice Dean in charge of student’s affairs at the University of Buea called on matriculating students to embrace the new pedagogic approach characterized by online teaching and learning, sense of personal safety, discipline and a change of mindset amidst the COVID 19 pandemic and the Anglophone crisis.  Highlighting these factors which continue to be a threat to education, the guest speaker challenged these students to build a different mindset and make use of the opportunity they have to study for success she reiterated, does not come in a platter of Gold.

Raising up their hands as a sign of acceptance to abide to the rules and regulations of the institution and to be fully committed to their studies, the Vice Chancellor of BUIB Dr Mrs. Francisca Hongla Biaka formally admitted these 1,205 deserving and qualified students into BUIB. Welcoming them to the university with the “Audacity to Be Different,” the Vice Chancellor invited them to take studies as a priority for that is the major reason for being part of the BUIB family.

The 2020 matriculation and induction ceremony which started with an ecumenical service, also witnessed the official installation of class delegates whose role is to work in synergy with management to ensure student’s satisfaction and discipline during their stay at the university.
