The Biaka University Institute of Buea (BUIB) has taken another giant step in strengthening its academic and professional training portfolio by signing a landmark convention with the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire de Yaoundé (CHUY) represented by her Director General Prof Vincent de Paul Ndjientcheu. The signing ceremony, which took place today, September 3, at the CHUY Hall in Yaoundé, was presided over by the Minister of State, Minister of Higher Education and Chancellor of Academic Orders, Professor Jacques Fame Ndongo.

Leading the BUIB delegation was the Vice Chancellor, Dr. Francisca Hongla Biaka, accompanied by top officials of the institution. In her address, Dr. Francisca Biaka underscored that the convention is more than a formal agreement; it is a powerful bridge linking academia with the healthcare sector. She noted that the collaboration will open new doors for BUIB students, especially those in the School of Health Sciences, granting them access to advanced clinical training, exposure to cutting-edge medical technologies, and opportunities for impactful research.

For BUIB, the agreement reflects its unwavering commitment to innovation, excellence, and the holistic development of future healthcare professionals. The initiative further aligns with the university’s mission to produce graduates who are not only competent in Cameroon but who can also stand tall on the global stage.

Professor Jacques Fame Ndongo stressed that partnerships of this nature are crucial for building a stronger higher education system capable of responding to modern challenges in healthcare and research. He lauded the initiative and congratulated BUIB for its forward-thinking vision and CHUY for opening its doors to support capacity building in health sciences. He modelled Dr. Francisca Biaka as an example for all.

The convention sets the stage and signals the beginning of a new era in health education, one that bridges classroom theory with real-world practice while reinforcing BUIB’s reputation and position as a leading private university shaping the future of healthcare in Cameroon and beyond.
