The Biaka University Institute of Buea (BUIB) on Saturday, September 20, 2025, was the proud host of the grand launch of two groundbreaking books, One Student, One Entrepreneur and Entrepreneurial Universities in Cameroon. The launch was more than a celebration of literature; it was an afternoon filled with inspiration, empowerment, and thought-provoking conversations on the future of education and entrepreneurship in Cameroon and beyond.

The day began with the arrival of students, invited guests, staff, and special dignitaries who gathered with palpable excitement. The main hall was sound with energy as old friends reconnected, young students looked forward with curiosity, and thought leaders anticipated a fruitful exchange of ideas. The event formally kicked off with a word of prayer, a solemn act that set the stage for a day of reflection, gratitude, and inspiration. This was followed by the introduction of the chairperson of the occasion and the dignitaries in attendance, highlighting the weight and importance of the gathering.

Opening remarks and a warm word of welcome were presented by Dr. Akom Delbert, Ombudsman of BUIB, representing the Vice Chancellor, Dr. Francisca Hongla Biaka. In his address, Dr. Delbert congratulated Mr. George for his remarkable contributions to knowledge and innovation through his writings. He described the two books as timely and visionary, noting that they aligned perfectly with BUIB’s mission of fostering excellence, innovation, and self-reliance among students. He reminded the audience that entrepreneurship is not merely a career path but a mindset, one that every student and professional must embrace to thrive in today’s competitive world.

The program then transitioned to a series of powerful and engaging presentations. The first presentation was delivered by Dr. Tangmo Momenyi, President of Chitechma University, who captivated the audience with a talk on the transformative power of entrepreneurship. She recounted her personal life journey and how entrepreneurial thinking had enabled her to overcome challenges, create opportunities, and impact her community. Her words were deeply moving and left participants reflecting on how embracing entrepreneurship could redefine their own paths.

Next on stage was Mr. Laye Mbunkur, Managing Director of Bluemoon Ltd, who shared a stimulating presentation on the common challenges entrepreneurs face, particularly in today’s fast-changing digital age. He spoke candidly about the hurdles of adapting to new technologies, managing limited resources, and navigating global competition. Yet, his message was ultimately one of hope and resilience, urging students and budding entrepreneurs never to give up but to see challenges as opportunities to innovate.

The final presentation came in the form of a video message from Mr. Roland Kwemain, Chairperson of Go Ahead Africa Ltd. In his address, Mr. Kwemain highlighted the central role of entrepreneurial books as tools for personal and professional transformation. He emphasized that books capture the experiences and wisdom of experts and can serve as lifelong guides for readers seeking success. He challenged participants not only to acquire such books but also to put into practice the insights they gain, thus transforming knowledge into impact.

Following these inspiring presentations, Dr. Akom Delbert returned to deliver a comprehensive twin review of the two books. His review described One Student, One Entrepreneur as a clarion call for students to move beyond dependency and embrace self-reliance through creativity and enterprise. He further explained that Entrepreneurial Universities in Cameroon was a timely resource that re-imagines the role of higher education as a hub for entrepreneurship, innovation, and job creation. His review drew applause as it underscored the relevance of Mr. George’s work to both academia and society at large.

The highlight of the afternoon was the official launching proper. Chief launchers and co-launchers were introduced, and the atmosphere turned celebratory as participants purchased copies of the books. Guests eagerly lined up to have their copies personally autographed by the author, creating moments of joy, pride, and connection. The sight of students, staff, and dignitaries walking away with signed books symbolized not only support for the author but also a shared commitment to fostering entrepreneurship and innovation.

In his vote of thanks, Mr. Mofor George expressed heartfelt gratitude to the BUIB administration, the guest speakers, his family, and all those who attended. He paid special tribute to the Vice Chancellor of BUIB and Chair of the Biaka Group, Dr. Francisca Hongla Biaka, for her unwavering support, noting that she personally catered for the cost of printing both books. He described her gesture as a mark of visionary leadership and a powerful reminder of her commitment to nurturing talent and innovation within the Biaka community. Mr. George emphasized that his books were born out of a passion to see young people rise above unemployment and dependency by embracing entrepreneurship. He urged students to use the books as practical guides to shape their futures and reminded educators and institutions of their critical role in cultivating entrepreneurial mindsets.

The event concluded with family photographs, networking, and working sessions where participants exchanged insights and built valuable connections. The mood remained vibrant, with many attendees expressing how deeply the event had impacted them. For some, it was the first time they had encountered such direct calls to innovation and self-reliance; for others, it was a reinforcement of values they already held dear.

The open-up at BUIB was not just a book launch, it was a movement. It left participants equipped with knowledge, energized with new ideas, and ready to take bold steps in both their personal and professional lives.
