The Management of Biaka Group held a high-level working session with the United Kingdom High Commissioner to Cameroon, HE Matt Woods, to review the existing relationship between the UK and Biaka Group and discuss ongoing and prospective areas of collaboration.
The meeting provided an opportunity for both parties to take stock of key engagements and explore ways of further strengthening cooperation in areas aligned with shared interests and development priorities. Discussions focused on the role of strategic partnerships in advancing education, healthcare, community development and international engagement. Among the key areas discussed was the Transnational Education (TNE) Programme, which continues to provide opportunities for strengthening international academic collaboration and expanding access to quality education. The meeting reviewed ongoing engagements within this framework and considered opportunities for further development and impact.
Healthcare cooperation was also highlighted, particularly Biaka Group’s engagement with the United Kingdom’s National Health Service (NHS). Discussions underscored the importance of strengthening healthcare partnerships, knowledge exchange and initiatives that can contribute to improved health outcomes and capacity development. Another important area of discussion was community development through the Dr. Biaka Memorial Foundation (DBMF), the humanitarian arm of Biaka Group. The Foundation’s work in supporting vulnerable communities and contributing to social development was recognized as an important component of the Group’s broader commitment to creating sustainable impact beyond its institutional operations.
The meeting also reflected on the successful visit of the Archbishop of Canterbury to Cameroon, hosted by Biaka Group and the Dr. Biaka Memorial Foundation. The landmark engagement provided a valuable platform for dialogue around education, healthcare, faith, humanitarian action and community development, while further strengthening relationships among key stakeholders. Looking ahead, the discussions examined upcoming projects and initiatives within the existing working framework between the UK and Biaka Group. Both sides expressed a shared commitment to building on the progress already achieved and identifying new opportunities for meaningful collaboration.
The working session reaffirmed the importance of sustained engagement, strategic partnerships and collaborative action in addressing shared priorities. It also highlighted the potential for existing relationships to generate further opportunities in education, healthcare, humanitarian support and community development.
