The atmosphere at the Biaka Group came alive with excitement and celebration as staff, guests, and well-wishers gathered to commemorate the 2026 International Labour Day on May 1st. The colorful event, marked by speeches, entertainment, games, refreshments, and nonstop dancing, served as a moment of appreciation for the dedication and resilience of workers across the Biaka Group family.
This year’s celebration in Cameroon was observed under the theme: “Social Dialogue and Decent Work: Factors of Peace, National Cohesion and Economic Development of the Enterprise.” The theme strongly resonated throughout the ceremony as speakers emphasized the importance of unity, collaboration, and healthy working conditions in fostering institutional growth and national development. The celebration began with the arrival of staff members and invited guests, all elegantly dressed in their Labour Day outfits and filled with enthusiasm for the occasion. The venue gradually transformed into a vibrant scene of unity and joy as workers from the various institutions under the Biaka Group assembled to honor the spirit of hard work and service.


The official ceremony opened with a solemn word of prayer led by Dr. Ngong Gaius, who committed the event into God’s hands and prayed for continued growth, protection, and success for the Biaka Group and its workforce. He also called on staff members to remain committed to excellence, teamwork, and professionalism in the discharge of their duties. Following the prayer session was the official welcome address delivered by the Deputy Vice Chancellor in charge of Innovation and Cooperation and representative of management, Dr. Feh Mary. In her remarks, she warmly welcomed all staff and guests to the celebration and expressed management’s gratitude to employees for their tireless efforts and unwavering commitment toward the advancement of the institution. Dr. Feh Mary highlighted the important role workers play in sustaining the vision and mission of the Biaka Group, emphasizing that the success of any institution lies in the dedication and passion of its workforce. Drawing from the national theme, she stressed the need for continuous social dialogue between employers and employees as a means of promoting peace, harmony, and productivity within the workplace. She equally encouraged staff members to continue embracing innovation, discipline, and collaboration while assuring them of management’s commitment to creating a conducive and supportive working environment.


The ceremony continued with a speech from the staff representative, whose message strongly reflected the voice and concerns of workers. In the address, appreciation was extended to management for the strides made in improving working conditions and promoting staff welfare. The staff delegate particularly appreciated the impressive infrastructural standards of the Biaka Group, especially those of Biaka Hospital, which continues to position itself as a center of quality healthcare delivery. Staff members were encouraged to make maximum use of the healthcare services offered by the hospital in order to safeguard their health and well-being. mr. Taboko George also underscored the importance of decent work and mutual understanding between staff and management in ensuring institutional stability and progress. Workers were encouraged to remain united, hardworking, and committed to the growth of the institution.



One of the major highlights of the event was the keynote address delivered by the Chief Executive Officer and President of the Biaka Group, Dr. Francisca Hongla Biaka. In her inspiring speech, she paid glowing tribute to the entire workforce of the Biaka Group for their dedication, sacrifices, and continuous contributions toward the institution’s success. Dr. Francisca Hongla Biaka described workers as the backbone of every successful organization and praised the determination and professionalism demonstrated by staff members across the various sectors of the group. She reiterated management’s commitment to staff empowerment, quality service delivery, and institutional excellence. Speaking in line with the national theme, she emphasized that peace and economic growth within any enterprise can only thrive where workers feel valued, respected, and heard. She called on all staff members to continue fostering unity, integrity, dialogue, and teamwork while remaining focused on the collective vision of transforming lives through education, healthcare, and community service. Her speech was met with loud applause and admiration from the audience, reflecting the strong bond between management and staff.



After the official speeches, the atmosphere shifted into full celebration mode as workers participated in various games and recreational activities organized for the occasion. Refreshments were served as participants enjoyed music and social interactions in a lively and cheerful environment.
